Certification

We also see a need for validation in the quality of the 3D Printing products and solutions including materials. Since there is a gap and no accreditation agency for this technology in the country. Trinity 3D has formulated a consortium with validating agency to work in confluence to do required accreditation for the products and solutions. This will eventually help us to measure the quality of products to be certified for better standards. And since with more proliferation it is imperative to ensure the end customer gets the right products and solutions.

Parameters for certification

Parameters for the Fused Deposition Model or Fused Filament Fabrication

  • In the FDM the model or part is produced by extruding small flattened strings of molten material to form layers as the material hardens immediately after extrusion from the nozzle.
  • The microns achieved from the print of materials needs to be authenticated as per the figures confirmed by the 3D printer manufacturer.
  • Which are the various materials the machine can print - eg. such as Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene ( ABS) , Polylactic acid (PLA) Polycarbonate (PC), Polyamide ( PA) Polystyrene ( PS) lignin, Nylon, rubber, PEEK ( PolyEtherEther Ketone) among many others, with different trade-offs between strength and temperature properties. PEEK is used in Aerospace, Automobile, Engineering and medical application. PETG and UTEM 9085 are materials used for their heat resistance properties. Ultem 9085 also exhibits fire retardancy making it suitable for aerospace and aviation applications.
  • FDM is also used in prototyping scaffolds for medical tissue engineering applications. Also, material which are biocompatible like PEEK if can be printed with the machine.
  • Product Certification (one product each) and brand certification are two separate certifications facilitated by Trinity 3D
